In PakPruvo, you record recycled content per material row of a packaging component. Material composition, supplier references and assigned documents help your team document and technically review the information.
For purchasing, packaging development and quality management
This page is for companies that take material information from suppliers, maintain specifications or answer customer questions about recycled content. These include manufacturers of packaged products, own-brand suppliers and companies with changing packaging suppliers.
Typical follow-up questions are: which part does the value refer to? Which document supports it? Does the information still apply to the current specification?
Record material proportion and recycled content separately
The material proportion describes how much a material contributes to the weight of a packaging component. Recycled content describes the proportion of recycled material within that material.
Both values are percentages, but have different reference quantities. In PakPruvo, each material row can contain the material, additional details, weight proportion and recycled content. Recycled content can be between 0 and 100 percent or remain blank.
Missing information should not be replaced with an estimate. If a specification lists several plastics or other materials, the information is split accordingly.
A calculation example illustrates the difference
A fictional packaging component weighs 10 g. Of this, 80 percent is PP and 20 percent is filler. A recycled content of 30 percent is stated for the PP; for the filler, we assume 0 percent in this example.
- The calculated PP mass is 8 g.
- 30 percent of 8 g gives 2.4 g of recycled material in the PP.
- Relative to the 10 g component, this calculates to 24 percent.
This calculation explains the reference quantities. PakPruvo does not automatically calculate the material masses and total value shown here. The example also does not demonstrate a statutory quota or suitability for a particular purpose.

- Identify the component: Establish which packaging part the information belongs to.
- Record the material: Maintain the material and weight proportion in a separate row.
- Enter recycled content: Use the evidenced percentage for this material or leave the information blank.
- Assign evidence: Store the document in the product context and select an appropriate reference. Supplier contacts can be managed from Professional.
- Review the information: Check the material reference, specification version and scope of the document's statement. Review again when changes occur.
What matters when changing suppliers
A new supplier may use the same material name but supply a different composition. Reuse a previous recycled-content value only once it is evidenced for the new specification.
PakPruvo provides structured material information and assigned documents for processing. Document assignment and the percentage field are separate entries. The software does not automatically confirm that a particular document covers an entered value.
Questions about recycled-content data
Does 30 percent recycled content also mean 30 percent recyclability?
The terms describe different properties. Recycled content concerns the recycled material already used. Recyclability concerns recovery after use. An entered recycled-content value cannot establish a recyclability assessment.
Does PakPruvo check statutory minimum proportions?
Recording recycled content does not include an automatic check of statutory minimums. The company must determine which requirements apply to the specific packaging and how to provide evidence.
Are the percentages published on the product page?
Material proportions and recycled content are internal structured data. They are not automatically output as separate percentage fields on the public product page or in the generated declaration of conformity PDF.
Does a total of 100 percent confirm that the data are correct?
A matching total alone confirms neither the individual values nor their evidence. PakPruvo displays totals and processing guidance. Your team continues to check the material reference, individual values and overall total.
