Purchasing has a new specification, quality assurance is still working with the previous test report and the product record contains the old material description. When packaging changes, this information needs to be brought together again.
With PakPruvo, you maintain packaging components and their material data, assign documents and work on declarations of conformity. This supports coordination between purchasing, quality assurance and product management.
For manufacturers, fillers and food brands
PakPruvo supports companies that manage packaging data for food products, such as dairies, beverage manufacturers, delicatessen businesses, fillers and own-brand suppliers. The focus is on packaging and its documents. Recipes, production planning and food batch traceability are not part of the functionality described here.

Cups, closures and labels come from different suppliers
Each component brings its own data and documents. In PakPruvo, you can describe components separately and assign evidence to its respective reference. Supplier contacts can be managed centrally from Professional.
A material structure changes
A film receives a different barrier or a closure a new coating. An ordered layer structure makes the stored structural information traceable. For each layer, you can maintain a material, material detail and optional thickness.
Evidence exists, but its scope is unclear
A test report may relate to a particular material, specification or use. You store the file with an appropriate reference and check whether its content covers the specific packaging. Uploading it alone does not confirm this suitability.
Example: 150 g yoghurt
You record the cup, lid and sleeve as separate packaging components. For the cup, you maintain material composition and empty weight; for the lid, its layer structure if needed; and for the sleeve, material and disposal information.
The 150 g refers to the product contents. Internal empty weight is maintained for each packaging component. A recycled-content value belongs to its material row; whether a material is suitable for the intended food contact must be assessed by qualified personnel.
If the lid is replaced, your team reviews the specification, assigned documents and effects on the declaration. Issued declarations remain as separate versions.

Food-contact assessment is carried out by the responsible company and, where applicable, its specialist partners.
- Review documents: Gather specifications and available test or conformity documents.
- Describe components: Record material data, proportions, empty weights and layers where needed.
- Technically assess the use: Check that the documents match the food, contact conditions and packaging structure.
- Work on the PPWR declaration: Generate a draft from selected data or store an existing declaration as a PDF and review its content.
- Approve the product version: If the four-eyes process is enabled, another authorised person reviews the submission. Publication and the declaration remain separate tasks.
PPWR and food contact: which documents are involved?
Food packaging is subject to the applicable food-contact material rules alongside the PPWR. Certain materials, such as plastics, have their own conformity documentation requirements. A PPWR declaration does not replace these documents.
PakPruvo supports storage and assignment of existing documents. The software does not carry out migration testing and confirms neither food-contact suitability nor compliance with harmful-substance limits. The European Commission explains the rules for food-contact materials.
Questions from purchasing and quality assurance
Can we use the same packaging for several products?
From Professional, a shared packaging library with versioned data sheets is available. A product uses a selected version. Updates are applied selectively.
Does PakPruvo detect every technically relevant change?
PakPruvo can show changes to selected packaging information compared with an issued declaration. Weight, material proportion and recycled-content values are not directly taken into account as individual values in this comparison. Your team must assess the effects of a change even when no notice appears.
Do customers receive all test reports through the QR code?
Internally stored evidence is not automatically published. The product page can show selected packaging information and an issued declaration of conformity made available for publication.
