For shops, own brands and shipping operations

This page is for online retailers, brands with their own shops and companies that import products or sell them under their own brand. Purchasing, product management and shipping often need the same packaging information for different tasks.

Your company's legal role depends on the specific supply chain. The PPWR self-check provides initial guidance.

Three situations where shared storage helps

A supplier sends a new data sheet

You need to establish which packaging the document covers and which details have changed. In PakPruvo, you can store the document in the product context, select an appropriate reference and edit the affected data. Your team reviews the content.

A product gets different shipping packaging

A bag replaces the previous shipping packaging. The closure, label or filling material may also change. Separately maintained components help describe the new configuration and assign its documents.

Several products use the same component

From Professional, you can maintain packaging data in a shared library. Products use a selected version. New library versions can be reviewed and applied selectively.

Example: a drinking bottle is sent to a customer

The bottle packaging, a mailing bag, protective padding and a shipping label are used for shipping. Each component can have its own material information and an internal empty weight. If a component consists of several materials, these are recorded in separate material rows.

For example, a specification may belong to the mailing bag and a supplier's recycled-content information to the padding. Your team checks which documents substantiate the respective data. The example describes a workflow; the required evidence depends on the specific packaging and use.

How to work on packaging data for your shop

The workflow shows your team's tasks. Publication takes place separately.

1. Describe the product: Maintain the article number, name, type or batch and target markets.
2. Separate the packaging: Record components with packaging type, material description and internal weight information.
3. Assign documents: Store documents and specify their reference to the product, a component or another supported object. Supplier management is available from Professional.
4. Review information: Technically check data and evidence and address guidance in the compliance cockpit.
5. Work on the declaration and publication: Generate a draft declaration of conformity from selected data or store an existing PDF. The intended product version is published separately.

What you maintain internally and what customers see

Empty weights, material proportions and recycled content are internal data. They are not automatically output as separate fields on the public product page or in the generated declaration PDF.

The public page can show product information, packaging components, material descriptions, disposal instructions and an issued declaration of conformity made available for publication, among other things. Storing supplier documents internally does not automatically make them public.

Questions from online retailers

Is PakPruvo connected to my shop system?

You can maintain products manually. CSV import is available from Starter and an integration REST API from Professional. A specific shop connection is assessed against your systems. A ready-made connection to every shop or marketplace is not assumed.

Does the QR code remain when information changes?

Within the same product version, published content can be updated under the same link during the contract term. A new product version has its own public code. An existing QR code does not automatically switch to the new version.

Does PakPruvo check whether my packaging is legally permitted?

PakPruvo supports data maintenance and displays processing guidance. The company remains responsible for the legal assessment, evidence review and declaration.
