Products and packaging components

You need tenant admin or editor access. This article is not legal advice — your company remains responsible for material declarations, evidence, and the legal assessment of your packaging data.

Go to Products → New product, choose the context (sales packaging, transport packaging, or empty packaging), and enter the master data. Save before you add packaging components and evidence.

Each product can have multiple versions. Packaging changes are usually made in a new draft version.

In the product workbench you add the product’s packaging components — for example outer carton, inlay, or film. For each component you maintain material, weight, and other details relevant to conformity and the public product page.

You can reuse recurring specifications from the library instead of entering them from scratch every time.

Under Settings → Packaging components you maintain reusable library items with versions and datasheets. A library version should have at least a packaging type or material shares before you publish it — empty versions cannot be released.

Published library versions can be referenced on products. Suppliers and equivalence groups support assignment and the evidence path; dedicated help articles will cover those topics later.

When packaging data is ready, review required fields in the Compliance cockpit, issue the Declaration of Conformity, and publish the product when needed (see the Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and Publish and QR code help articles).
